Our Business Unusual Accelerator Team are taking the priorities that came out of Citizens’ Studio and shaping them into a prototype enterprise.

This is the third strand of our Theory of Change, and how we tangibly contribute to a more inclusive and ecological economy in Cambridge. Today, we're excited to introduce you to Caroline Oriokot.

Tell us about yourself and the skills that you’re bringing to the team.

Hi! I am the Founder and Creative Director at Amayi Rose, a hybrid African prints fashion brand. I am a persistent entrepreneur with a string of failed startup experiences.

I am a change maker and work with women who are making a difference by training tailors, thereby creating jobs and future business owners. I have customer service, negotiation and language skills. I bring networks of Women in Business and BAME community groups.

What made you want to join the Business Unusual Accelerator team this year?

I wanted to join the Accelerator to access opportunities for learning and growth and to eventually be able to share the knowledge I gain in addition to my experiences.

What excites you about what emerged from the 2025 Citizens' Studio?

What excites me is the desire and possibilities of creating meaningful work for myself and others.

What is your hope for what emerges from this year's Accelerator, and what do you think the impact will be?

I hope that a robust model emerges that will accelerate the spread of Together Culture ethos within diverse organisations. This will make a difference by transforming workplaces to embrace the use of a community approach that values decent pay, personal growth and wellbeing for all stakeholders.
